ENERGY HACK

power to customers

Hack all day and night, meet new people, and enjoy great networking experience.

Help us create a fancy and a user-friendly mobile app for energy consumers with focus on better interaction, control and optimisation of consumption patterns. Perhaps you are a utility company customer yourself, or you will become one very soon. Be creative, use available open data, introduce new innovative features and functions. Change the status quo and help us to set new trends with regards to renewable energy and environmental sustainability. Express your ideas and solutions and win financial and other attractive benefits. Besides hacking you will be able to meet other big/open data experts, ux/ui design fans and mobile apps/web developers.

What you can expect

2 challenges. Each team is expected to work on the basic challenge: Analysis and optimisation of electric energy consumption of customers. Expected outcome is a proposal of functional and innovative mobile app with suggestion of additional applicable functionalities and features. If you dare to co-create new trends in renewable energy, increase your winning chances and participate also in the extra challenge.

Main Challenge:

Analysis and optimisation of electric energy consumption

Proposal of user friendly mobile app with real time push notifications and extended functionalities which can influence and optimise energy patterns and energy consumption. Through the analysis of a monthly invoice cycle, the mobile app should also suggest optimal alternative to prevent and mitigate potential fees caused by ineffective use or overuse of energy.

Extra challenge:

Help to increase renewable energy share on overall energy consumption

Are you capable of finding and leveraging various open source data? Can you find connections and meaningful relations in data that can be used? Can you identify locations and customers who could benefit from utilisation of renewable energy sources (especially photovoltaics)? Help in the transition towards more sustainable and progressive energy sources. Based on data and experience, come up with proposals, solutions or features that can bring more information and transparency to customers with regards to renewable energy sources and environmental sustainability. Don´t be afraid to look for inspiration on more advanced markets or propose out of the box ideas.

You can participate individually or as a team and it doesn´t matter whether you are a student or an expert.
